Rebecca Rylands is an experienced counsellor, holding Level 4 clinical registration with the Australian Counselling Association and a master of counselling degree. She has worked in education settings for 10 years, with 6 of those years working as a Guidance Counsellor in schools. Over this time Rebecca has developed an in-depth knowledge of social and emotional issues. Rebecca works with children, teenagers, and adults, including couples and families.
Rebecca is knowledgable, compassionate, and thoughtful. Her counselling style involves getting to know an individual or family’s unique set of circumstances and supporting them to become agents of change in their own lives. Problems people may bring to counselling sessions with Rebecca include anger management, anxiety and depression, grief, palliative care, relationship issues, parenting, sexuality and gender, trauma, suicidal thoughts and victims of domestic violence. Her private practice is set in a home-based environment within a sensory garden designed that can help children and adults feel at ease.
Rebecca uses a variety of modalities to suit a client’s particular needs. She has a non-judgemental approach and utilises person-centred, strengths-based, and solution-focussed techniques in her counselling sessions to bring about positive change and growth. Her aim is to provide a leading support service that allows individuals of all ages to learn coping skills in dealing with the kaleidoscope of life's challenges. Rebecca is passionate about building trusting relationships with people and to help them live more meaningful and fulfilling lives.
